FY 2013-2014 CONTINUUM OF CARE

The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) on behalf of the Government of Guam and Guam Homeless Coalition (GHC) submitted its application for FY 2013 –2014 Continuum of Care (CoC) homeless assistance program competition.

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program is designed to promote community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, and local governments to quickly re-house homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness; promote access to and effect utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and optimize self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The CoC application is a competitive process for projects funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Funds are used for programs that address the needs and provision of services to Guam’s homeless population.

In the FY 2013- 2014 CoC homeless assistance competition, GHURA and GHC are pursuing for the renewal funds of nine projects that will expire during 2014 and 2015, and proposal for planning costs.
