PY2008 Action Plan, HPRP Substantial Amendment, Final
The federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
(ARRA) was signed into law on February 17, 2009. As part of ARRA,
funds are available under a new Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing
Program (HPRP) which is administered by the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Government of Guam is the eligible entity authorized to apply for HPRP funds on Guam and has
designated the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority
(GHURA) as the administering agency to apply for $1,221,922 in HPRP funds.
These funds may be used to provide homelessness prevention
assistance to persons at-risk of homelessness, to provide rapid re- housing assistance to homeless persons, to help cover required data
collection and evaluation costs, and to help cover grant
administration costs. For more information click here .
David Lockwood, HUD Web Manager for the Western Region cautions:
There is a deceptive website out there that is posing as HUD. This website tries to dupe people into giving out personal information (known as “phishing”) - and because they’ve made their site appear to be an “official us government website”, some people may fall prey to this scam.
The website is: http://bailout.hud-gov.us/
